Chinese delicacies for passengers on flights
into and within China

Lufthansa’s catering arm, LSG Sky Chefs, has been represented in China since 1990. The company, with eleven joint ventures in place at major hubs in China, is now the biggest international inflight caterer in the Middle Kingdom. The airport kitchen facility, built with LSG support at Hong Kong’s international airport, produces 20,000 inflight menus, daily, for airline customers. Aside from Lufthansa, 32 other airlines benefit from the service quality and experience of LSG Sky Chefs at the Hong Kong base. LSG Sky Chefs is also represented in Shanghai, Peking, Xian, Nanjing, Cheng Du, Hangzhou, Sanya und Guangzhou.

Ye Wen Chian, head chef at Pudong’s Shangri-La Hotel in Shanghai since 2003, is responsible as “star chef” for the culinary quality of the food served to passengers on Lufthansa flights into and out of China. On all 52 of the airline’s weekly flights, his menus have enriched the inflight fare in First and Business Class since the 2006 summer flight schedules.
